Having read the author’s previous book, ‘the S.T.A.G.S’, I found myself looking forward to more of her work.
Her writing is so compelling and easy to follow, but you’re always left wondering “whodunnit?” The author always manages to surpass expectations and shock us with a grand reveal ending and ‘The Island’ was no exception.
The premise sounded very “Lord of the flies” and I’m sure that was half of the reason why I eventually bought this book.
For a Young Adult novel, this book took some very dark turns and us, as the reader, are left to wonder at the state of all the characters humanity (which is one of my favourite parts about books!).
Hopefully in the near future the author may publish another whodunnit that I may lose 3 days of sleep over!
