A different and modern take on a deserted island story, with many new and old pop culture references. And feature a different type of hero or leader. I loved the character group included and they did, very much, remind me of 'The breakfast club'. And liked how the language and references did lead to you feeling like Lincoln was very much "a geek". The twists and turns made it hard to put down and the time steamed to fly as I read it. Its a good reflection of how "class" doesn't matter, we're all going to end up the same. And everyone can be the "Alpha" in different environments or situations. The one thing I did not really like about The Island, is the book cover. I think it could be better designed.
