I was looking forward to this after reading it was similar to Lord Of The Flies. It wasn’t all that similar though other than the main character being a geek, wearing glasses and the fact there was a plane crash.
I have to say I found the start quite boring and just wanted to get on with the story on the island.
Once on the island, I actually didn’t see the twist coming at all, despite some saying they did. This for me was the best part of the book and I really started to enjoy it at this point.
The bit I really didn’t like though was the epilogue. I just found it so unbelievable and had no context from how he found himself in that situation!
I’ve not read STAGS and I don’t think I will.
