I'm a bit stuck on how to rate this novel, I feel like it had so much potential but it was incredibly disappointing unfortunately.
When I read the first few chapters I was convinced I would enjoy this story, the backstory of these high school stereotypes is rather lengthy but needed. The readers need to understand where Lincoln's hatred for his classmates comes from.
Once the pupils crash land and discover themselves to be alone on a desert island, the story begins to heat up. I enjoyed reading about the hierarchy disintegrating and being redeveloped.
However, about two thirds in I began to hate the main character. His personality was sexist and insufferable, I could hardly read the pages where he turned into a cruel leader that exploited women and starved anyone that didn't obey him.
The novel was enjoyable up to this point although it was predictable.
