This book seems like a lighthearted holiday read. The cover is attractive; I particularly like the casual font and the colourful illustration.

I appreciated the chatty and informal first-person narrative, but as a reader in my late 20s, I felt a bit too young for this book. The book seems more suited to older readers who can relate to main protagonist and who enjoy drinking gin. The main protagonist's eighteen-year-old daughter, Lauren, is closer to my age but seemed quite immature.
