What a lovely book.
We were off to a good start as this novel not only featured gin, but also Jack Russells and the sea. Three of my favourite things in life.
The characters are charming, the dialogue is laugh out loud witty. I loved Dad, Dale and Lauren- how nice to feature a youngster who does not have some hideous issues to deal with.
The launch of an artisan distillery was fascinating, the involvement of Old Woman Bates was moving.
The subject of local gins is very of the moment, and I could actually envisage this venture being a huge success in the real world. Yes, you have to suspend belief on occasion about how things work out- but surely that’s the sign of a good story, reality is temporarily put on hold.
Grab your glass of gin & head for the sun lounger with this pretty book & relax…cheers!
