Light and enjoyable
I'd categorise this book as mum-chick-lit, which is exactly NOT the sort of thing I would usually go for! However I found that this had a bit more to it with the gin element adding something extra and also the family relationships were somewhat more sophisticated than I expected from the first few pages. The characters were genuinely likeable and had a nice level of depth to them.
There were still certain ways of using language that I found quite "cringey" and I'm not sure there would be any more to gain by re-reading this book, hence my 3/5 score. However, it was a quick and easy read which I enjoyed on holiday and would recommend the book as such. It's a good way to escape for a few hours!
