Helen hoang took the ‘fake dating’ trope (which is always a great topic) and made a wonderful romance out of it!
It tells the story of a woman with Aspergers who hates being touched so hires a male escort to teach her about sex, intimacy and as the title would suggest - kissing. Which stirs up all kinds of drama, but it’s adorable.
I love how Hoang approached the theme of Aspergers, I feel like it was very accurate and well researched. It didn’t once feel like a throw away characteristic, rather a intrinsic part of the character, and not in a negative way. I loved how she was just herself, unapologetically herself.
I also really appreciated how important the theme of consent is in this book, it makes consent as sexy as it should always be!
Stella and Michaels relationship just gave me butterflies the whole time, I cannot wait to read the rest of the series
