This is the first book I’ve read by this author. Hoang suffered with social anxiety as a child and started to write romance novels as they always had a happy ending. It was only when she spoke with her daughters pre school teacher and then did some research that she was realised she had and was diagnosed with autism. This influenced the writing of The Kiss Quotient series.

I wanted to love this book, unfortunately for me it just didn’t hit the mark. I could sum up the whole plot in two lines. Stella has Asperger’s and suffers with social interactions. She is being pressurised by her parents to meet a boyfriend so enlists Michael an escort to help her broaden her skills, shall we say!!

I really liked how Asperger’s was written about in a main stream fiction. Stella was depicted really well and I loved how her and Michael interacted and the pace and development of their relationship was spot on.

Unfortunately for me there just needed to be somewhat more of a story. If I didn’t have so many books on my TBR pile I MIGHT read the other two in the series, but as it stands I won’t be rushing out to buy them.
