This book will warm your heart!!! It recognises the importance of consent and that the voices of those with disabilities are so so essential to be heard. Most tv shows or books I’ve seen and read mostly touch on boys with autism but never before have I seen it from a girl’s perspective. Also, where can we all get a Michael??? He is such a sweetheart. The writing style was a bit off at times, but there were so many sentences I loved: “Love, he found, was a jail. It trapped, and it clipped wings. It dragged you down, forced you to places you didn’t want to go”; “All the things that make you different make you perfect”.
And even though this is a romance novel, it also recognises how strong and independent women are: “ Yes, she was lonely. Yes, she had a broke heart. But at least she had herself”.
