This book is a romance set in current day which focuses on our main character Stella. Her mother is determined to get her into a marriage but Stella only has one thing she wants to do - engage in her special interest of economics which coincides with her job. Stella has autism and as someone with autism I can tell you that this is a very accurate representation of how autism affects day to day life. She hires Micheal to teach her how to ‘be good at sex’. I liked how the romance didn’t feel forced in the end. Helen Hoang didn’t just add romance for the sake of romance.
We developed a connection to Stella and Michael’s relationship and watching Stella become more comfortable in herself in society in general as well as with Micheal was amazing. It isn’t often that autism is shown in books so I was really happy to read it and it didn’t feel inaccurate or faked. Overall I would recommend this book to everyone as it may be very educational for people on autism in women and in general it was a very wholesome read!
