This story is about a woman who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome and so hires a prostitute to teach her how to be seductive and intimate with a man. However, their relationship becomes much deeper than that. I love this book as it explores the low self-esteem of both characters and how they encourage each other to find that self-worth. Stella and Michael are both easy to fall in love with and root for, and there’s plenty of smut to go around.
When I first picked up the book I expected it to be a basic sexy romance but i was pleasantly surprised - the writer navigates Stella’s Asperger’s very well and the story goes much deeper than just the romance (although that is the main focus of the story). I would definitely recommend this as a young adult story - it’s a mostly light-hearted read although it does touch upon some darker aspects of life - for example the stigma around prostitution.
