Damn, this book started off so good. I was instantly enamoured by the main character, Stella who has Asperger's. First of all - I love the representation for this disability in this book. The cookie-cutter mindset of the lead girl as mostly abandoned... which is of course a good thing! Stella's insecurities about how she is perceived by others is the driving force in this book. The Stella's afraid of sexual intimacy (as well as intimacy in general) leads her to hire a male escort to teach her how to be better at sex. And can I just say the main dude is super hot, basically perfect... and also not white for once. Because if she's good at it, maybe she'll appear more normal. What she doesn't realise is that she can actually have fun and enjoy sex too... with the right partner, of course. Her perspective in this novel was a breath of fresh air and super educational to read, since the author herself has Asperger's.
