Character driven historical fiction... an excellent way of making historical novels accessible.

I would not normally gravitate towards historical fiction, and in this sense The Last Hours would be a little out of my comfort zone. The difference with this novel though is that it sounds largely character driven and with well-developed characters who breathe life into a story, any genre and era can be fascinating. Not read Minette Walters before but generally a fan of the dark psychological aspects of Barbara Vine novels, so keen to read!
