The cover is quite suited to the subject, very medieval, but it's not the sort of thing i tend to read so probably wouldn't have picked it up to find out any more.
The opening chapters were well written and i enjoyed especially the character of Thaddeus and would be slightly interested to find out how he got on as the steward of this demesne (first time in a while i've had to look up a word i didn't understand in a book). But i am still not overly sure from the blurb and the opening chapters whether the story itself would be enough to make me want to read more or keep me reading.
