The story is about Avery & Sadie - although Sadie is only there in sprit as she dies at the very start of the books. There are other characters as well of course but the beginning is mostly about the two of the - with Parker & Luce as Sadie's family in the background. The descriptions of the area are very vivid and enable the reader to picture the scenes. I now want to know what happened to Sadie...
