Our main character Avery manages properties at Littleport, a place where two worlds collide. Avery bridges the gap between the locals, making do with their surroundings and the wealthy visitors for the summer, but she feels anything but accepted into either world. When all the summer fun is over, the place sounds suffocating and chilling, a mysterious undertone about the place. While getting a party set up, two police officers break the news to her that her best friend Sadie, who she'd be waiting to turn up to the party, is dead. Suicide. Or is it?
