Littleport is mostly made of up two communities, the residents, some of whom form the work force for the very wealthy visitors and the holidaymakers themselves. The two usually are wary of each other and don't mix but two girls break the rules and become inseparable each summer. This comes to an end after Sadie is found dead and a suspected suicide. Avery won't accept this decision and although she is regarded as a suspect in this death, she won't rest until she clears her name.
