I really enjoyed this book, although after the first couple of chapters I didn't think I would. It seemed pretty run of the mill, where a young girl, Sadie, commits suicide by jumping off the rocks into the sea, whilst her friends were at a party.

However with each chapter, something unexpected was revealed and I found my opinion of and reaction to Avery, the narrator evolving and changing. The author, Megan Miranda, managed to leave me guessing throughout the entire book.

Avery, is Sadie's best friend and had been taken under her and her family's wing but as the book progresses the relationship and the family are not what they seem. Everyone seems to have secrets and an agenda.

The characters are well developed and the author drip-feeds information so as to keep you guessing without any stupid twists - just a natural progression through day to day life.

A great thriller!
