I was very excited for this book because I'd previously read The Perfect Stranger and loved it. Unfortunately this just didn't quite hold my attention like I was hoping and I ended up not finishing it. I'm not quite sure what it was that made me put this book to one side, the plot sounded interesting and Miranda's writing flows well and is easy to read, maybe it was just a little slow to start and the pacing wasn't to my taste at the time.
I'm hoping that I'll one day pick this back up and give it another go because I know that Miranda is a good writer and I do want to read more by them. Hopefully the next time I set my eyes on this is will end up being just as good as The Perfect Stranger and this dnf will have just been the right book at the wrong time.
Please don't let my review influence whether you read The Last House Guest, chances are you may love it and I wouldn't want to be the reason you never found out for yourself.
