From the very start, "The Last Guest House" has so many layers to it, and you are desperate to dig into them. Knowing that the character knows more than you makes them 3D, and so real you can picture them next to you.
The story is gripping, motivating, and fast paced, where you find yourself sucked in to the point you need to pause the clock so you can carry on reading. The mindset of Avery is addictive, and you find yourself suspicious of everyone as she is, not trusting a soul, and scared after her past. There is almost a comfort in finding your thoughts reflected in her opinions, but also find yourself seemingly shouting at her too as the story unfolds.
This is the first of Megan Miranda's books I have read, and I will certainly be reading more.
