The cover would instantly attract any readers such as myself and the blurb gives an interesting overview of the novel without spoiling any major plot points.
The writing style was descriptive and kept the story flowing easily. And although I feel like this book had great potential, it was very slow paced. I enjoyed reading this novel but for me, this isn’t considered a page turner.
Despite all of that, the main characters were likeable but hadn’t been described well enough. Therefore it was difficult to relate to the characters and notice any character development.
I also wish that the author had expanded on Avery’s and Sadie’s friendship.
The author did jump a lot from the past to the present many times. Not only did this confuse me a couple of times but it also annoyed me.
Overall, there were little twists here and there but nothing majorly shocking happening.
