I really liked the descriptive writing, it transported me to Littleport and I enjoyed the author's writing style. But I did not connect with the characters, they seemed a little distant and I struggled to find anything to like about them - maybe 36 pages wasn't enough to get a real feel for them. The story seemed quite predictable (not that different to the many other thrillers out there) and I wasn't hooked, but I could see potential especially if there were some twists and turns thrown in, it would make a decent thriller. I would still consider giving the book a chance.
