Set in a coastal town, this is a double timeline mystery narrative that looks back and forth between the events of a summer that lead to a death.
Full of twists and turns for the reader with a few red herrings - that's what makes a good read in this genre. The pace is steady and slow, but I didn't mind this most of the time and there were some atmospheric descriptive moments.

The mystery is set around the death of a girl named Sadie, who was found underneath some cliffs and we follow the events around this. The inhabitants of the town of Littleport, where the story is centred, are all mysterious and we get a good glimpse into what makes them tick; the central, focal character of Avery has just enough depth to keep interest and drive the story forward. There's great push in the writing towards the end, which keeps you hooked in and the conclusion/epilogue works well. It’s a mystery at the core but explores humanity, trustworthiness and judgement.

I would certainly recommend this book to others. Many thanks for the review copy!
