Initially I wasn’t quite sure what to think of The Other Half of Augusta Hope because Augusta is really rather strange. The way that she thinks is seen as odd by everyone around her, even her mother seems not to know what to do with her and is embarrassed by her.
Gradually, Augusta Hope worked her way under my skin, there was a lot to love about her and I think that I wanted to be her friend. Another book that made me feel like this was Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and I am sure that Augusta Hope will get compared to Eleanor Oliphant, as they both feature a quirky main character who is isolated and considered strange by many around them.
I enjoyed this story but felt Augusta's character wasn't particularly believable.
