This is the kind of book that you want to read in one sitting (if you have the luxury of time!). The deeper into the book you get, the more you want to keep reading it, as bits of information are revealed.

Avery Greer is from Littleport, Maine. As a teenager she meets Sadie Loman, and the two become inseparable. The friendship is an unlikely one as Avery is a local, and Sadie is the daughter of rich property owners who lease out holiday homes in the area.

They spend every summer together for a decade, then Sadie is found dead. The death is ruled as a suicide, but a year later Avery starts making discoveries which lead her to think otherwise....she also starts to feel like she might be a suspect....

The book is set in the summer of 2018, and then every few chapters there is a flashback chapter to the summer of 2017 and the night that Sadie died. Each chapter brings another piece of the puzzle, or a new revelation....

I love the cover of this book, it is so tactile and really effective. It has raindrops which are embossed, so it actually looks like drops of rain on the cover. I also think whoever wrote the blurb has written it very well - just the right amount of detail about the story, without giving away anything.
