The cover of and title of the book certainly drew me in immediately with a promise of an interesting story unfolding. The introduction but the author also resonated in how we should always remember the past and most importantly learn from it so as not to repeat terrible mistakes. The layout of the story itself intrigued me, I had not seen this style before but this helped me feel the pain within the grandfather and underlying tension at home. The grandfathers story also clearly set out the scene with the threat of attack looming amongst the day to day activities that carried on despite this.
Overall I was immediately drawn in to the story and cannot wait to read the remainder to find out the tragedy and if it will be resolved...
