I think that was the most unique and haunting way to start a book off and it has worked as I am just so eager to read more! I loved hearing words from the author first, and then the poetry really helped set the scene before going back to the grandfathers' story and even though I think it's going to be a harrowing read at times, I cannot wait to read more!
