This book was entirely outside of my comfort zone- the way its written, the genre were nothing like I've picked up before. Yet I thought it was a really beautiful read and one I will highly recommend to others. It is so engaging and all of the characters were described in a really lovely way, I grew to love them all very quickly as individuals and also with how they interacted with one another. It's a really unique POV for a War novel and, as one of my first reads on the subject, I was worried I;d find it a bit difficult to understand. This definitely wasn't the case at all. Heartbreaking yet full of hope right up until the very end, it's for sure a book which will remain with me for a long time to come.
