I love this book!
It is about a young girl called Misuki. Her grandfather seems upset about something and the young girl persuades him to tell her.
We are taken in 1945 in Hiroshima. Misuki's grandfather is with his friend Hiro when the nuclear bomb is dropped. The two boys search and find Hiro's five year old sister Keiko. But she is lost when Misuki's grandfather leaves her to go for help. She searches for her by leaving paper cranes with his address but cannot find her.
My best friend told me about it and lent me her copy. It was beautiful!
I was reading it with baited breath hoping that every thing would be alright for the characters at the end of the story. I t was so sad.
My favorite characters were Misuki's grandfather and Keiko.
I thought that they were very brave.
