This book is very different to the ones I have reviewed before and the authors note that proceeds the story is a really good opening to understanding why the author chose to write this. It was a very interesting, honest account of what spurred the author to write about Hiroshima.

The book then continues with the present day and the relationship between a grandfather and his granddaughter and their love of books. The writing style is great in short four line paragraphs which add emphasis and emotion to what is going on. This also split by ted circled phrases that are powerful and set up the story perfectly. We flash back to 1945 Japan and the short preview ends on a tremendous cliff hanger that really makes me want to buy this book!
