A story filled with heartwarming moments, courage, harrowing moments and despair. I loved it so much
I liked the cover which I felt was unusual and drew me to the book straight away. I’m not familiar with the author but wow- was blown away by this book!
It is a fascinating story which follows the narrative of Icharo on the day of the Hiroshima bombing. I like the theme of the paper crane that runs all the way through the book, to the ending with directions of how to make a paper crane!
This is probably a book that should be on the school cirriculum as it deals with some really important issues. At the very very least all adults should read it!
I’m definitely going to pass this on to my teenage nieces who have been learning about Hiroshima as I think they will love it.
Warning- get the tissues at the ready when you read this book! I’m still recovering!
