Well, i didn't intend on reading this book in half a day i did!
This was such a sad story to read, based on the day the nuclear bomb dropped on the city of Hiroshima, it tells of a man full of guilt for breaking a promise. My heart was in my throat near the end of this book but...Wow!!
So well written and beautifully illustrated and the addition of the 'make your own paper crane' in the back was such a lovely touch.
This story pulled on my heart strings throughout and i found myself hoping he would get his wish. It really makes you think about what those poor people must have gone through after surviving such a huge tragedy. People just praying they could find their lost loved ones and trying to build their lives again.
