I enjoyed this first impression; the writing is atmospheric even at its most pedestrian bits. Bleak winter scenes are painted with words and you feel like you are there as an onlooker. We meet plenty of characters in the opening pages, but we are yet to find out how they all intertwine. Why has Liv Björnlund stayed in her hometown this whole time? Who were the girl and the trucker at the start? I'd love to read on and find out more!
