Definitely a book to read in the middle of winter!
I absolutely loved Stina Jackson's haunting, lyrical prose in her debut novel 'The Silver Road' (a 5* read for me!) and have been eagerly anticipating her next novel. Having now read the opening pages of 'The Last Snow' I'm sure that this story will be equally as intriguing and engaging and that her characters will be as well-developed. It's already clear that there are many mysteries to be unravelled and I'm sure that there will be many twists and turns before truths are revealed.
I know how evocatively the author describes the landscape in which she sets her stories and as this winter is bringing lots of snow to where I live, I know it won't be hard for me to be able to identify with an icy early spring in the far north of Sweden! Just looking at the evocative cover is enough to make me feel icy-cold!
