Thrillers are my favourite genre of book. I particularly love them when they are set in interesting landscapes, such as this one. From the first impression I can already get a sense of the Swedish scenery, transporting me to the snowy forests.
The tension that exists between Liv and her father is stifling. How did they get to this point? Will it ever recover or will it end in complete disaster? What is the relationship like between Simon and his grandfather? Is it equally as oppressive?

Will the others be successful in stealing the money from the house? Is there more to the hatred that Juha has for Vidar? How far is he willing to go for ‘justice’?

This first impression has left me with so many questions. The atmosphere created is so tense and uncomfortable, that it makes you want to read on.

The cover feels bleak and chilling, a perfect fit for this kind of novel.
