The book starts off slowly lulling you into false sense of security. Despite the picturesque snowy landscape the characters have a hard life. Liv a young woman with a teenage son lives with her father in degradation despite the fact he is known among the community to be well off. Everyone seems to resent Vidar and his miserly ways including his family. I look forward to being more about this family.
