I really enjoyed this book. I thought the setting - a tiny village in Lapland where everyone knows everyone and newcomers are suspicious - built a great atmosphere for the story and the characters were all so different, but intertwined brilliantly.

The book centres around a multi-generation, dysfunctional family and you are asking from the very beginning what ties the old father has over his daughter and why she hasn't escaped their derelict house and desolate lifestyle for something better. When he is murdered you think you know who did it, but as the story goes on there's more and more suspicion cast on every character you come across. You never quite know if the things that the characters have seen are real or imagined, so as with any good thriller you have to work a bit to piece things together until the twist!

Would highly recommend as I couldn't put this down!
