Eighty year old Vidar lives in isolation in odesmark with his daughter and her son. He is not a well liked person, very cantankerous and obnoxious and generally very rude towards other people. The story is told by his daughter liv along with a couple of local drug dealers Gabriel and Liam. Their home is in a deserted corner of Lapland in a desolate farmhouse. No one knows what goes on here behind the walls but secrets have a habit of being found out and coming out into the open. And this is what happens in this book. The author has interwoven murder, bad blood between neighbours and friends and a sinister plot to keep the reader gripped to the edge of their seat. The story can be a bit confusing in parts especially at the beginning when you are first getting to know the characters as it jumps from one part of the story to another but eventually you settle to a thrilling read.
