The last snow is the sort of crime/ suspense thriller I prefer as it very much focuses on the characters and and the relationships surrounding the crime rather than the actual crime it’s self.

The last snow was extremely well written and did a fantastic job of creating the atmosphere, at times I felt I could almost smell the forest while reading.

This book had me guessing the whole way through. Each time I thought I had it sussed it would swerve in a different direction. The ending was one that although at one point in the book I had suspected it, it then threw me off the trail so in the end I was still surprised.

Despite all the good points in this book there were a couple of things that meant I couldn’t give it 5 stars. The first was the characters. I felt that they didn’t delve deep enough into some of the characters, so I never really felt like we got to know them enough. The other is that at the end I thought there were still a couple of unanswered questions, personally I prefer a book to tie up all loose ends.

Overall I would definitely recommend this book.
