I will be the first to admit that when I first started reading this book, it did take me quite a while to get into it. However, once I got to about the half way point I really got into it and wanted to read more to see what happened. It's not written in the normal style that I will usually read but that is certainly not a bad thing. I just mean that I think that this is why it took me so long to get into it, because it was written in a style that I am just not used to right now. Plus the fact this is a translation text.
The descriptive language used is absolutely beautiful and really helps the reader to paint the perfect picture of what is going on in the text. I enjoyed the jump in perspective occasionally, especially in jumps from past to present tense.
There is also such a diverse range of characters and nobody appears to have been type cast, which just really helps to bring a wide range of personalities to the story line. I would definitely recommend this book, very enjoyable and different to what I am used to.
