The book was very different to anything I have read before. The blurb suggested a good book with an intriguing storyline and the cover fitted the feel book well. It took a little while for me to get into the book and it was quite a slow burner. Around the middle of the book it really started to get going.
I found it quite difficult to understand Liv and I found her character quite confusing. Her relationships with Simon and Vidar were well written, but again there was something missing. It could be that because it is a translation the depth of the characters perhaps hasn't translated across into English from the original Swedish.
The descriptions of the Swedish forests was incredibly well written and I could really visualise the isolation and bleakness of the landscape. The forest really seemed to reflect the mood of the story.
I would recommend this to anyone interested in thrillers with a slow steady build up which makes you think along the way.
