The Last Snow is a slow burning but gripping read which I found to be incredibly atmospheric. I loved how there was a very real sense of isolation and desolation in the setting and how nothing was given away sooner than it needed to be; instead a compelling and layered story was gradually revealed. There was a very interesting dynamic between Liv, her father and her son and for a fair while I found it odd how she couldn’t seem to break away from the almost tyrannical grip that he had over her. I enjoyed how we looked back and forth at different times in the central characters lives and how these scenes all slotted nicely together to reveal the whole picture as the book progressed. I would definitely read future books by Stina Jackson as I enjoyed her writing style and careful structuring and story planning. A solid 4, probably 4.5,stars from me!
