I am not sure quite what it was about this book that meant it was not a 4 or 5 star. I did feel that the characters were not as well rounded as they could be, I liked the character of Liam and felt that he was fleshed out, yet most of the others were brushed over. I thought the ending would give me more answers than it did. I also guessed the protagonist of the crime but felt that more was needed to explain his motivation. The basic idea of why he would do it is clear but not the detail. I wanted to know more about him and his family relationships.

The story line was ok but I didn’t feel the tension of the book. I felt the tension for Liv, trying to make peace with her situation. However, again I felt we needed more clarity around this and why she had stayed for so long. I think a lot more could have been made of this.

A good read but it did not leave me feeling satisfied. I felt like the murder was a distraction from the real story which, for me, should have been understanding the family dynamics and the truth of the past.
