I really wanted to like this, from the cover and the blurb it sounded like something that would be right up my street, but it just wasn't. It was very flat and nothing happens and even when something kind of does its very late on and kind of like a background event. The way, what I assume is suppose to be climatic event, is written you wouldn't even be sure that it's meant to be the main event of the book. If I hadn't had this to review it may have been a DNF (which is something I very rarely do), because there just wasn't enough going on for me. I know some people like books where its more character driven than plot driven, but even if you looked down that road I don't think you had enough history and background behind the characters to become involved in the book in that way.
I will say the cover is gorgeous though and that certainly made me think it was going to be an interesting book.
