What an intriguing first look. Ancient folklore intertwined with futuristic space travel.

Halley's Comet has been knocked off its course by a solar flare and soon it will be crashing into Earth - or will it?
Potentially the world will be facing the same destruction as when the dinosaurs were wiped out by a comet.

An extremely rapid evacuation is about to take place with a select few chosen to colonize a new world in order to keep the human race alive.

But all does not seem to be what it should be. Paragraph by paragraph we are being fed little nuggets of information. How did the government choose who was to leave, how was everything organised so fast. Are they being told the truth or is it lies?

Who are the Global Peace Forum? With their identical appearance of blond hair,. seeking equality/sameness of everyone, it is almost like a futuristic incarnation of the Nazis and their ideal Aryan race.

The authors' flowing prose is constantly feeding us with little thoughts and ideas, making us think and query.

Who are the Monitors on the space ship, what do they really know, why are they worried and nervous? So many questions and no answers yet - we need to keep reading to find the answers. And I am sure there will be more questions and thought provoking comments as we travel through the story.

Ooh, and I do want to travel through this story, it is an adventure, in time, in space and in mind - but all from the comfort of my armchair.

What an eye catching cover - Hispanic folk-art motifs and strange, almost unknown botanicals, all painted in a highly complimentary colour scheme. Absolutely delightful and yet depicting the strangeness and unknown aspect of what is unfolding in the story.
