Could this be the book that converts me to science fiction?

The front cover is beautiful and really interesting. I'm drawn to this book because it's not the norm. I like that it's diverse and has Spanish throughout the book. I also like that she wants to be a writer and has her own character and personality. I'm not usually into the science fiction genre but it's really intriguing topic how only she remembers Earth. Could this be the book that converts me to like science fiction?
