I always like things that blend folklore with real stories, it really brings the folklore alive. From reading the blurb, I'd be a bit concerned that the story would be peppered with words like 'abuelita', which presumably means something to Spanish speakers, but just fragments the narrative for me. Having said that, it's an intriguing premise and a book I'd be interested in reading.
