A Journey Through the Stars!
Earth will soon be destroyed by a comet. Petra Peña, one of the children of a family chosen to journey to a new planet are the only ones to preserve the human race. However, 300 years later, Petra wakes up to a new world where the Collective runs a new society where all memories of Earth and history and culture.
This book is quite a thought-provoking and quite distinctive. The Last Storyteller mixes in Mexican folklore and sci-fi. It is rare to see a middle-grade sci-fi book so it was a refreshing change. It has some important messages about protecting our planet, as well as heritage and humanity.
Petra is a great character who although still young, has to carry the weight of saving everyone. She is a strong protagonist with a lot of courage. The storyline was gripping.
Overall, it is a good novel which I think is suitable for those who like the YA genre too.
