This is a really high concept tale which examines a future in which Earth is destroyed by a comet and a limited number of humans escape to try and form a new colony on another planet.
Our main character is Petra. She's learnt stories from Mexican folklore, at her grandmother's knee, and aspires to be a great storyteller to keep these traditions/legends alive.
She, her brother Javier and their parents have gained a place aboard the second rescue ship and are due to be placed in suspended animation whilst it travels hundreds of years in search of a viable "goldilocks" planet.
What Petra hadn't realised was that part of the process would involve wiping their memories completely.
The "Collective" who now control the ship are determined to eradicate all "relics" from Earth and recommence life on a new planet with a clean slate.
But Petra still remembers.............can she battle for a brighter future for the handful of original earthlings that still remain on board?
